I appreciate the welcome, and I look forward to further interaction with all of you.

Computers have pushed their way further and further into our everyday lives until it seems that we can do little without running into them -- too bad they are not easier to deal with. At my workplace, I spend a large amount of time helping run some of our computer systems and helping my co-workers use them more effectively. My goal is to help resolve issues that are impeding them so that they can more effectively accomplish the work for which they were hired.

My goals here are quite similar. I want to help keep the systems running smoothly (do I ever want them to run smoothly!). I also want to help resolve technical issues on the user end, things that might impede our main task: communicating about some critically important issues confronting us.

So . . . please contact me with questions and suggestions. If you have ever said to yourself something along the lines of “Why won’t the system let me . . .?” or “I wish that I could . . .,” then I want to hear from you. To the extent that I can, I would like to smooth out those wrinkles.
