ChristianityTuesday: Fender Bender
We are sad to report that the prognosis for the emergent body is critical. A combination of birth trauma and malnutrition has landed the young patient in intensive care.
This issue of ChristianityTuesday provides a detailed medical history of the emergent church and prescribes a treatment regimen to get it back on its feet.

Well, I don’t know, Doug. I suppose it depends on what you mean my “insult”. Your own blog advertises her services and offers “the cleanse” for a price. I just referred to it.

Really Doug, don't be so sensitive. This was hardly an insult - maybe a caricature. But, you showcase her on your blog, what did you expect? The insult, if you could call it that, was directed against you, "Bubba."

Yes, the only criteria for criticism that they wield is some loose notion of hypocrisy.
This provides the practitioner of even minor criticism with a somewhat clumsy instrument that is only somewhat useful, and it still does not protect them from the accusations of the alleged hypocrite.
Oh well, if all ya' have is a hammer in yer toolbox, every problem looks like a nail.
From what I can see over at DougIdiot.com (hey, that's MY spelling and I believe in a Generous Spelling Test - I know, different author) the toolbox seems bereft of contents. Methinks Shelley ought to peddle a colon cleanse instead of merely one for our livers.
This provides the practitioner of even minor criticism with a somewhat clumsy instrument that is only somewhat useful, and it still does not protect them from the accusations of the alleged hypocrite.

The work some people do requires precision; what you say and think about God does not.

First, I received a couple comments and then a personal email regarding a post that I wrote earlier in the week. The correspondence came from a friend who is also an academic, and she challenged the lack of sophistication in my post, saying that I was slinging around terminology in a sloppy manner. In an email response I agreed, and then went on to say that blogging is a medium that is different-in-kind than the kind of work she’s used to doing. I then joked that I hoped she wouldn’t have the same criticism of my dissertation! *“Different-in-kind”. Reminds me of Trucker Frank and Marie.
