Yes, Remonres has been doing that for us with his Adobe. We periodically turn it all into a pdf file. I think we are due for another archiving.

FYI - The Top Articles listing in the sidebar are rated automatically by number of views. Recently Commented is also automatically generated by most recently commented, next most recently... Our Favorite Articles is still in beta.

The collapsable archives is a new b2evolution plugin just out for the most recent "Dawn" version, with a compatible version already made for "Phoenix" when it comes out.

If you find yourself banned from the site, do not assume we have purposely banned you. One of our spam prevention tools bans is based on behaviors and I am routinely banned from one site I know of that has it. If you get banned, let me know (include your IP) and I can add you to a whitelist, so you won't be banned by it again.

Unk, you can do an export on your blog database...just the post and comment tables to csv to your PC, if you have server access. Just change the seperator to "," instead of ";" which for some unfathomable to me reason is the default.

That's the first time anybody has accused me of that. If it is because of the blog, then it is because of TypePad. I like them, they're the best I've seen for what you can do with a blog. If, on the other hand, it is because of this aura of omnicompetence that goes with me . . .

I'm trying to load this blog up to my Google desktop so I get a web clip when anything new comes out. It won't work.

The formula is typically http://remonstrans.net/atom.xml Any ideas?

Unk...not to worry. I am working the bugs out of an installation of the new b2evolution version. It enables you to subscribe to posts and/or comments to receive amail notification when anything new comes in.

I expect to have it up in a couple of weeks if everything goes well.

I don't know about atom or how it interacts with google desktop, but you can rss either posts or comments, and they work in any of the rss readers.

Let me do a bit of research.

Well, quickly...I added the atom code from a new version blog skin and GD automagically added the atom feed.

However, if I try clicking on it, it attempts to download the feed code, instead of giving an url in the address bar.

RSS seems to work fine in GD, but I will try to get the atom working this week, if I can.

Many thanks to Dave for all the skill and hard work he put into setting up this new version of our blogware, Phoenix 1.6. It represents significant improvement for us as administrators (correcting some irritating bugs), and, we hope, greater ease for you.

We lost a few things, most important to me was the expandable archive, which I thought was slicker than silicone on a glass doorknob. That can be reinstated we hope—or so we are told. As with everything else in life, the past is important.

It is also faster. Faster is better; don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Anything that makes boys giggle and girls scream is an enhancement in the quality of life.

Just so any guests know, we are not trying to make commenting deliberately hard for you. We are only trying to make it very hard for spammers.

If you feel you have anything to say, but it doesn't bear on the conversation on the main blog, we have a guestbook area for you to be heard.

If you have a comment about the nuts and bolts of this blog, here is the place to comment.

Remonstrans now has a favicon. If you have a browser that displays them, it is the face of St. Anthony from the header graphic, "The Temptation Of St. Anthony", by one of those painters who wore funny hats in another century.

If your browser doesn't display favicons, don't worry about it. The only convenience is "branding" your site, and your eye catches it when you have 20 pages open in tabs.

Your RSS feed is a bit whacked. Perhaps it is something you can't fix, but when I was adding you into Sage for Firefox, I got 7 different Atom and RSS feed options, and in Google desktop, you guys are always showing up recently, no matter what. What's up with that?

Perhaps it is just something I'm doing.

um...ahh..the next version will be out very soon.

Google Desktop gives priority to remonstrans on my PC as well, and I assume it is because I have my browser opened to it most of the time, and it gets a double input, from the manually inputted feed, and the rss on the page...oh and let's not forget google probably hits on all the feeds on the page...RSS 1x and RSS 2x and Atom.

Google needs to rectify this, but you can get rid of one instance by removing your manually entered feed to remonstrans.

Well, I opened comments back up for unregistered readers. The form will ask for a name and email. This isn't required if you are registered.

In the future, look for registered members to comment directly, and unregistered will have to wait for an admin to ok them.

Oh, and btw, bbcode is ebabled for comments, for those of you who know bbcode. For those who don't go to [link]http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/faq.php?mode=bbcode[/link]

We have upgraded b2evolution, our blog software. The only chnages you should see are a spiffy new captcha for comments, a temporary lack of collapsible-archives, and last, but not least...The blog should be a bit faster loading.

The rumor is that many new feature-enhancing plugins are on the horizon; So please stay tuned.

PS - Hopefully, the registation troubles we have had are a thing of the past also.
